Coverage equal to 70% of your weekly income, up to $2,500/week of tax free benefit. No Pre-Existing Condition Exclusion or Limitation - Pre-Existing Conditions are covered like any other disability. You can choose to have benefits start after 7 or 29 days of continuous disability and benefits payable for up to 12 or 8 weeks, depending on when benefits start, or until Long Term Disability (LTD) benefits begin. You do not need to be enrolled in the LTD plan to enroll in the STD plan. 


When you've decided which plan option is right for you, choose Plan A, $2,500/wk max. benefits start after day 7 or Plan B, $2,500 max. benefits start after day 29. Go to the "STD/LTD Application" page where you can calculate your STD benefits, rates and complete the application.


During the open enrollment period eligible NAPFA members can apply, guaranteed issue (no medical questions). New NAPFA members have 60 days from your date of membership to apply for guaranteed acceptance coverage. Employees of a NAPFA member or NAPFA Member Firm must be employed for 90 days before they are eligible to apply for STD coverage. New employees must wait 90 days to become eligible, they then will have 60 days to enroll in the plan, guaranteed Issue.
